Localisation
International markets mean international products in a variety of languages – but it's all too easy for the real spirit of a game to get lost in translation. That's why we've built a dedicated team of translators and native tongue voice directors who are also passionate about games. With our vast experience of localising audio for foreign territories we're able to ensure that vocal performances maintain their integrity wherever they go, whatever language they're in.
At side we translate the whole experience – not just the words.
CASE STUDY: Medieval II: Total War has a huge international following and it was therefore vital that the localised dialogue was every bit as polished as the original. side’s solution involved the same audio team that completed the English version carrying out the foreign version recordings, ensuring total continuity of quality. With side’s bespoke, mobile studio and our own native tongue directors we were able to cast and record in each territory, delivering audio back to the edit and QA team in London on a daily basis. The end result – on time and on budget – met with universal approval.
‘The FIGS part of things went smoother than any title I’ve worked on, and the quality surpassed my expectations. Our FIGS dialogue is just as high quality as the English.’
